As followers of Jesus, we often wonder what it means to live out our faith beyond Sunday mornings. The Scriptures remind us that we are not just gathered by Christ — we are also sent by Him. In this two-week sermon series, we’ll explore what it means to be a people “sent” through the lens of God’s grace and promise.
In the first week, we’ll see how Jesus comes to His fearful disciples behind locked doors. He speaks peace, gives forgiveness, and breathes out the Holy Spirit. Only then does He send them into the world. This pattern is vital for us: before we go, Christ comes to us. Before we speak, He forgives us. Mission is never about what we do to earn God’s love; it’s about carrying the peace we’ve already received in Jesus.
In the second week, we’ll look at Jesus’ Great Commission to make disciples of all nations. This isn’t a call just for pastors or missionaries — it’s for the whole Church. God sends each of us into our everyday vocations — workplaces, neighborhoods, schools, and homes — as His people carrying the good news. And He promises that as we go, we never go alone: “I am with you always.”
This series will remind us that being sent isn’t a burden but a gift. We are sent not in our own power but in Christ’s authority, not with our own wisdom but with His Word, not in fear but with His peace. God gathers us in worship, fills us with grace, and then sends us into the world as instruments of His love.
