We all wrestle with the question of identity. Every day we’re surrounded by a world that dazzles us with beauty and distracts us with temptation. We see good and evil, joy and pain, light and shadow. So in the push and pull of life—when we are tempted to define ourselves by our mistakes or by the world’s applause—God speaks a better word. He calls us His children. He names us forgiven. He claims us as His own. Our identity isn’t built on what we have done or left undone, but on who He is and what He has done for us. That is the truth that steadies us as we walk as saints who still wrestle with sin, yet live under the covering of Christ’s unshakable love.
