Role at Narrative: pastor

Ted’s story:

I was born the middle child of three kids on the western slopes of the Rocky Mountains in Craig, Colorado, where my father served in his first pastoral call. We lived there until I was three, when my father took his second call to the suburb of Kingwood, in northeast Houston, which I consider my childhood home. Because of this, I have a deep fondness for the piney woods and Houston sports.

Jesus claimed me in baptism as a baby and since then, my life has been a constant growing process. Romans 5:6-8 has been a major theme in my life. I am constantly re-learning that there is nothing I can do to earn the love of God, but that in fact, He has already given it to me freely through Jesus. My daily walk in faith continually leads me to Jesus becoming greater and me becoming less and seeing how that leads to my joy.

My journey would take me from Houston to Austin to attend Concordia University Texas. There, I spent my college years working with various ministries connected to the university. After graduation, I spent time as a high school youth minister at my home church before marrying my wife Chelsey in 2010. After our wedding, we moved from the heart of Texas to St. Louis, Missouri, where I attended Concordia Seminary. I graduated in 2014 and we were blessed to move home shortly after, where we have been happily settled ever since.
