Celebrating 10 Years

In the fall of 2015, a new church started in Round Rock.

The story of Narrative Church begins with the people of Faith Lutheran in Georgetown. With a deep passion to see a new church take root in the growing communities of Williamson County, they stepped out in faith and called Pastor Ted Doering in 2014 to lead the effort. After prayerful discernment, the launch team chose North East Round Rock as the place where God was calling this new church to begin.

Those first months were full of backyard gatherings, living room conversations, and even meetups in local breweries. In October 2015, Narrative Church launched public worship at Hopewell Middle School, where we gathered for the next five years and built lasting relationships in the community. When COVID closed school doors in 2020, God provided an unexpected home in the Beer Garden at Rentsch Brewery, where worship continued for a season.

In time, Narrative returned to Hopewell before moving into the chapel at the Texas District Mission Support Center in Round Rock, where we continue to worship today. Along the way, God also drew us into the Harvest Partnership—a Spirit-led movement planting churches and multiplying disciples across Texas and beyond.

Over the past ten years, God has been faithful. Narrative has raised up and sent out lay leaders, worship team members, and even three pastors. We’ve seen God connect people to the Good News of Jesus again and again through this community.

Now we look back with gratitude and ahead with hope. Come celebrate 10 years of God’s work at Narrative Church—rejoicing in all He has done and all He will continue to do!
